Kiat Agar Tetap Istiqomah

A friend of our beloved, was the one who leads us to recognize the teachings of Islam which haq (right). Initially, he was so determined to live the teachings of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. He was always giving advice and providing some reading on Islam to us. But several years later, we see it so changed. The teachings of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam which actually is a mandatory for a man, gradually fade from him. Doctrine is dated one by one. And after the escape from the world of campus, reportedly also had less and less clear. We just pray I hope our friend is given instructions by God.

This background, we put together this treatise. With the aim that the Muslims who are familiar with the Islamic religion and have known this hanif deeper teachings of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam can find tips how to stay istiqomah in religion, following the teachings of the Prophet and to be brave in the charity. Hopefully useful.

Primacy People Can Continue Istiqomah

What is meant istiqomah is the path (religion) is straight (true) by not turning left or right. Istiqomah This includes the implementation of all forms of obedience (to Allah) and unseen, and leave all of his ban. [1] This understanding istiqomah mentioned by Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali.

Among the verses that mention istiqomah virtue is the word of God Almighty,

"Those who say:" Our Rabb is Allah, "then they istiqomah in their establishment, then the angels will descend on them (saying):" Do not you feel scared and do not feel sad, and glad you're with (acquire) paradise which God had promised unto you "." (Surah Fushilat: 30)

What is meant by istiqomah here there are three opinions among the commentators:

Istiqomah on monotheism, as said by Abu Bakr Ash Shidiq and Mujahid,
Istiqomah in obedience and fulfill God's obligations, as stated by Ibn 'Abbas, Al-Hassan and Qotadah,
Istiqomah above sincere and in charity till death picked up, as written by Abul 'Aliyah and As Sudi. [2]

And actually istiqomah can include this because all three interpretations are not mutually contradictory.

The above verse tells us that people who istiqomah and firm on top of monotheism and obedience, then the angels will give good news to him when death pick up [3] "Do not be afraid and do not be sad". Mujahid, 'Ikrimah and Zaid bin Aslam interpret the verse: "Do not be afraid of the afterlife that will be your face and do not be sad with the world that you leave the child, family, wealth and mortgage debt. Because of the angels who will take care of it later. "Similarly, they were given the glad tidings of Paradise which is promised. He will get various kinds of goodness and apart from various kinds of ugliness. [4]

Zayd ibn Aslam said that the good news here is not only when death is said to pick up, but also when in the grave and when the Day of Resurrection. This is what shows the primacy of someone who can istiqomah.
Al Hasan Al Basri when reading the paragraph above, he was praying, "cor anta robbuna, farzuqnal istiqomah (Oh God, You are our Lord. Give keistiqomahan on us)." [5]

Similar to the above verse is the word of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala,

"Those who say:" Our Lord is Allah ", then they remain istiqamah then there is no fear come upon them and they are not (also) grieve. They are the inhabitants of heaven, to dwell therein; in retaliation for what they have done. "(Surat al Ahqaf: 13-14)

From Abu 'Amr, or Abu' Abdillah bin Sufyan Amrah, he said,

"O Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, preach to me in (religion) Islam is saying (which includes all cases of Islam so that) I do not (have to) ask about it to others setelahmu [in the hadith of Abu Usama said," other than thou "]. Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Say:" I believe in God ", then beristiqamahlah in greeting." [6] Ibn Rajab said, "The Testament of the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam was already includes a will in this religion completely." [7]

There is definitely lack in Istiqomah

When we want to walk a straight and meet the demands istiqomah, sometimes we slip and can not istiqomah intact. So what can cover this deficiency? Jawabnnya is the word of Allah, the Exalted,

"Say:" Behold, I am only a mortal like you, revealed to me that your Lord is the Lord Almighty, then keep istiqomah on yan road straight towards Him and ask His forgiveness. "(Surah Fushilat: 6). This verse was ordered to istiqomah once beristigfar (begging forgiveness of Allah).

Ibn Rajab Al Hanbali explains, "The above verse" Istiqomahlah and ask forgiveness of Him "is a sign that there is often a shortage in istiqomah was told. That this shortfall is istighfar (begging forgiveness of Allah). Seek forgiveness, repent and itself contains istiqomah (on the straight). "[8]

Ways to Keep Istiqomah

There are some major causes that can make a person remain steadfast in the faith.

First: Understand and practice the two sentences with good and true creed.
Allah Ta'ala says:

"God affirmed (faith) those who believe with the firm saying it in the life of the world and the Hereafter, and Allah is misleading the people who perpetrate injustice and what He wills." (Surah Ibrahim: 27)

Interpretation of verse "Allah confirms those who believe with the steadfast words ..." is described in the following hadith.

"If a Muslim was asked in the grave, and he vowed that no god has the right to be worshiped but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, then this is the interpretation of the verse:" Allah confirms (faith) those who believe with the firm saying it in life in the world and the Hereafter "." [9]

As Qotadah Sadusi said, "The meaning of God affirms the faithful in the world is to affirm them in goodness and deeds Salih. While in the afterlife, they will be lifted in the grave (when answering questions and Nakir Munkar angel, pen). "Such words Qotadah narrated from the salaf other scholars. [10]

Why does God can teguhkan believers in the world by continuing to do good Salih and in the hereafter (the grave) with answering questions facilitated angel "Who is your Lord, who is your Prophet and what is your religion"? The answer is that understanding and pengamalannya good and right against the two sentences creed. He certainly understands the meaning of two sentences with the correct creed. Meet the pillars and the conditions. And he also did not hit the prohibition of God in the form of associating him with other than Him, that is doing shirk.

Therefore, this first tips menuntunkan someone to be religious to follow the path of life that is both salaful umma is a way of life of the friend who is the best generation of this Ummah. By taking this road, he will be busy studying religion to fix belief, monotheism and also studied very hard to master kesyirikan God forbid that should be shunned. Therefore, the path is the path he traveled Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama in religion which is a group of survivors who will always get the help of Allah.

Second: To study the Holy Qur'an by living and ponder.

God tells us that the Holy Qur'an to confirm the hearts of the believers and the Quran is a guide unto a straight path. Allah Ta'ala says:

"Say:" Ruhul Qudus (Gabriel) [11] revealed it from your Lord properly, to confirm (heart) people who have faith, and a guidance and glad tidings to those who surrender (to the God) "." (Surah An Nahl: 102)

Therefore, the Qur'an was revealed in beangsur gradually to pluck up courage Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, as contained in paragraph,

"And he said those who disbelieve:" Why does the Qur'an was not passed down to him just once? "; So that We may strengthen your heart with her and we read it in Tartil (regular and correct)." (Surat al-Furqan: 32)

Qur'an is the main road for one can continue strong in his faith. [12] The reason is, because the Qur'an is guidance and healing to the hearts are in doubt. As Allah Ta'ala says:
هو للذين آمنوا هدى وشفاء

"The Qur'an is the guide and antidote to those who believe." (Surah Fushilat: 44). Qotadah said, "God has graced the Qur'an as the light and blessing as well as an antidote for the believers." [13] Ibn Kathir interprets the verse, "Say O Muhammad, the Qur'an is a guide to the hearts of the faithful and the antidote to the soul of many doubts. "[14]

Therefore, we will see a very different situation between those who like to study the Qur'an and ponder with people who only occupy themselves with philosophers and other human words. People who actively reflect on the Qur'an and understand it, would be more sturdy and firm in this religion. These are tips that we must live so that we can continue istiqomah.

Third: Iltizam (consequently) in carrying out God's shari'ah

The point here is someone dituntunkan to run consistently in Shari'ah or in charity and do not break in the middle of the road. Because consistent in his charity more beloved by God than the occasional good deeds have been done. As mentioned in the hadith of 'Aisha-radi' anha-, he said that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,

"The practice is most loved by Allah Ta'ala is the continuous practice, although it slightly." 'Aisha also when doing a hard practice is always willing to merutinkannya. [15]

An rahimahullah Nawawi said, "Know that a little practice but consistently done, that's better than a lot of practice but only occasionally performed. Remember that little is routine practice would perpetuate the deeds of obedience, dhikr, the approach to God, faith and sincerity in the charity, will also make the practice is accepted by the Kholiq Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Consequently done little practice but will provide great rewards and doubled compared with a little practice but once in a while just done. "[16]

Ibn Rajab Al Hanbali explains, "The practice is performed by the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam is the consequent deeds done (continuous). He also decided to prohibit practice and leave her alone. As he has been banned to do this at friends' Abdullah bin 'Umar. "[17] Namely Ibn' Umar censured for leaving the practice of prayer at night.

From 'Abdullah bin' Amr bin Al 'Ash radi' anhuma, he said that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said to him,

"O 'Abdullah, do not be like the so and so. He used to pray daily the night, but now he does not do it anymore. "[18]

In addition to the continuous practice loved by God, the practice can also prevent the entry of the virus "futur" (saturated for charity). If someone is doing a good deed once but many, sometimes will emerge feeling lazy and bored. Conversely, if someone did good bit but steady (continuous), then feeling lazy too will be lost and a sense of passion for the charity will always be there. That is why we recommended to the important charitable continuous albeit small.

Fourth: Read the stories of people that could be used as Uswah Salih (model) in istiqomah.

In the Qur'an many told stories of the prophets, apostles, and those who believe the former. These stories of God made to pluck up courage Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam by taking the example of those stories when faced hostility infidels. Allah Ta'ala says:

"And all the stories of the messengers We tell you, is the stories with Us teguhkan your hearts and in this letter has come to the truth as well as teaching and warning to those who believe." (Surah Hud: 11)

For example we can take istiqomahnya story of Abraham.

"They said:" Burn him and help your gods, if you really want to act ". We said: O fire be coolness, and be keselamatanlah for Abraham ". they want to do plot against Abraham, but We made them the greatest losers. "(Surat al-Anbiya ': 68-70)

Ibn 'Abbas radi' anhuma said,

"Final words of Abraham when thrown to the flames were" hasbiyallahu wa ni'mal vice "(Allah is sufficient as a helper and the best place against)." [19] Look at how the Prophet Abraham's persistence in the face of these exams? He leaned all affairs to Allah, so he was safe. So did we when want istiqomah, also should do as the Prophet Ibrahim demonstrated. It's an important lesson from the story of a prophet.

Similarly, we can take a lesson from the story of Prophet Moses' alaihis greetings in the word of God,

"And when the two groups saw each other, said the followers of Moses," we are really going to be overtaken. " Moses replied: "Certainly not Lord is my Lord with me, someday He will guide me". "(Surat ash Syu'aro: 61-62). Look at how the persistence of the Prophet Moses' alaihis greeting when in cramped conditions? He was so convinced with Allah's help is so close. This is what can we sample.

Therefore, the salaf very happy to learn people's stories can be taken Salih for example, as they say the following.

Basyr bin Al Harith Al Hafi said,

"How many people that have died (that is, people who Salih, pen) makes the heart alive because they remember. But otherwise, there are people who are still alive (that is wicked, pen) to make this heart to see them die. "[20] That the people Salih way of life that if learned would make the heart more alive, even though they had no again in our midst. But unlike the case if the learned are stories of the artists, who become public figures. Although they live, not only made the heart more alive. Knowing their stories die to make us more greedy and mad at the world's wealth. Wallahul muwaffiq.

Imam Abu Hanifa also prefer to learn the stories of the clergy than to master the chapter fiqh. Rahimahullah He said,

"The stories of the scholars and sit with them more I like than to master a few chapters of fiqh. Because their story is taught in various manners and their noble morality. "[21]

Similarly, by Ibn Mubarok who have touched advice qolbu. To the extent that 'Abdurrahman ibn Mahdi said about Ibn Mubarok, "My eyes is not never seen giving the best advice from these people unless Ibnul Mubarok." [22]

Nu'aim son Hammad said, "Ibn al-Mubarok ordinary sitting alone in his house. Then there who asked him, "Are not you lonely?" Ibn Mubarok responded, "How could I lonely, but I am always with the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam?" [23] That is, Ibn Mubarok never felt lonely because he was busy studying street life of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.

That is the importance of reflecting people's stories Salih. Exercise was never lonely and despondent, and the heart will continue strong.

Fifth: Increase pray to God for given keistiqomahan.

Among the properties of the faithful are always begging and praying to God for given the persistence in the correctness. In the Qur'an Allah Ta'ala praised those who believe, who always pray to Him to ask for firmness of faith when facing exams. Allah Ta'ala says:

"And how many a prophet who fought with them a large number of followers (it) the pious. They do not become weak because of the disaster that befell them in Allah's way, and not lethargic and not (too) surrendered (the enemy). Allah loves those who wait. None other than saying their prayers: 'O our Lord, forgive our sins and our actions are exaggerated in our affairs and our courageous stance, and help us against the infidel'. So God gave them the reward of the world and a good reward in the hereafter. And Allah loves those who do good "(Surat Ali 'Imran: 146-148).

In another verse Allah the Exalted says:
ربنا أفرغ علينا صبرا وثبت أقدامنا وانصرنا على القوم الكافرين

"Ya Rabb us, Pour upon us patience, and our courageous stance and help us against the unbelievers." (Surat al-Baqara: 250)

Another prayer to gain strength and rigidity on the straight path is,

"Ya Rabb us, do thou incline to make our hearts astray after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from Thee, for Thou art the Grantor (the gift)." (Surah Ali Imron: 8)

The most frequent prayer of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam prayed was,

"Yes muqollibal Qulub tsabbit Qolbi 'alaa diinik (O Essence of the Supreme tossing and turning hearts, courageous heart on your religion)."

Umm Salamah was asked the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, why prayer is that he often read. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, replied,

"O Umm Salama, whose name is the human heart is always in between the fingers of God. Who is Allah wills, then Allah will give firmness in the faith. But whoever you want, God can be misleading. "[24]
In another narration said,

"Truly the heart is in the hands of God 'Almighty, the God who flipped balikkannya." [25]

Sixth: Mingling with people Salih.

God reveals in the Qur'an that one of the main reasons that help strengthen the faith of the Companions of the Prophet is the presence of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam in their midst. Allah Ta'ala says:

"How could (not likely) you become an infidel, while the verses of Allah recited to you, and messenger Nyapun are in the midst of you guys? And anyone who cling to (religion) of Allah then surely he has given instructions to the straight path. "(Surat Ali 'Imran: 101)

God also ordered to keep it together with good people. Allah Ta'ala says:

"O ye who believe, fear Allah, and be with people who are true (honest)." (Surat At-Tauba: 119)

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam also taught us to make friends with people who can provide good and often advises us.

"Someone who sit (friends) with people Salih and bad people are like friends with the owner misk oil and blacksmith. If you are not awarded to him misk oil, you can buy from him or at least to smell. As for friends with a blacksmith, if you do not find the body or clothes burned, at least you can smell unpleasant. "[26]

Ibn Hajar Al Asqolani said, "This hadeeth indicates prohibition friends with people who can destroy both religion and our world. And this hadith also shows a boost for associating with people who can provide benefits in religion and the world. "[27]

The scholars also have advice for us is always close to the people Salih.

Al Fudhail bin 'Iyadh said,

"The view of a believer to another believer who will polishing the heart." [28] mean he is by just looking at people Salih, a person's heart can come back strong. Therefore, if people used less Salih brave spirit and not in worship, they also visited other people Salih.

'Abdullah bin Al Mubarok said, "If we look at Fudhail bin' Iyadh, we will be more sad and feel yourself full of flaws."

Ja'far bin Sulaiman said, "If the heart is tainted, then we immediately went to Muhammad bin Waasi '." [29]
Ibn al-Qayyim narrated, "We (the students of Ibn Taymiyyah), if we are overwritten or despondent feelings arise within our prejudices when we feel bad or narrow in their life, we soon came to Ibn Taymiyyah to ask for advice. So by just looking at his face and listen to the advice he immediately lost all the anxiety that we feel and replaced with airy feeling, brave, confident and calm ". [30]

That is the importance of associating with people who Salih. Therefore, it is very important to find a good environment and looking for friends or close friends who run the religious spirit in so we can catch scent of kindness. If the environment or we are good friends, so when we are wrong, there is always advised and encouraged to goodness.

If the problem of friendship that are not met at all times, we dituntunkan to find good friends, especially with the search companion, the husband or wife living. The husband and wife, of course, will undergo the relationship is not just a moment. Even the husband or wife will be friends when sleeping. Rightly, we are trying to find a partner or Sholihah Salih. These tips will also make us more steadfast in living religion.

So a few tips about istiqomah. May God always confirms to us over the religious teachings of hanif (straight) this. O Supreme Essence turning hearts, our hearts courageous on your religion.
