The virtue of Prayers of Repentance
Abu Bakr ash-Shiddiq quoted 'anhu, he said, "I heard the Messenger sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam said:
ما من رجل يذنب ذنبا, ثم يقوم فيتطهر - وفي رواية: فيحسن الوضوء -, ثم يصلى - وفي رواية: ركعتين -, ثم يستغفر الله; إلا غفر الله له », ثم قرأ هذه الآية (والذين إذا فعلوا فاحشة أو ظلموا أنفسهم ذكروا الله فاستغفروا لذنوبهم ومن يغفر الذنوب إلا الله ولم يصروا على ما فعلوا وهم يعلمون
"It is not a (Muslim) perform an act of sin, then he's ablutions - in another narration: ablution well - and then perform prayers - in another narration: two cycles - and then ask forgiveness of God, but God will forgive (sins) of his ". Then the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam read this verse (which means), "And (also) those who, when working on indecency or wronged themselves they would remember God, then beg forgiveness of their sins, and who else can forgive sins except from God, and they do not carry that nasty deeds, while they mengatahui "(Surat Ali 'Imraan: 135) [1]."
This noble hadith indicates the primacy prayed two cycles when a repent from sin and the promise of forgiveness of sins from Allah Almighty for those who perform the prayer [2].
Some important faidah can we learn from this hadith:
- Regal grace and mercy of Allah to His servants, because He prescribed for them a way to rid themselves of the bad deeds they have done sins.
- Mandatory for a Muslim to be always obedient to Allah, the Exalted, to feel his supervision, and sinners are trying to avoid doing as much as possible. If he falls into sin then he should immediately repent and return to God [3], so that He forgives sin, as His promise in His Word:
(إنما التوبة على الله للذين يعملون السوء بجهالة ثم يتوبون من قريب فأولئك يتوب الله عليهم, وكان الله عليما حكيما)
"Verily in Allah's repentance is only for people who do evil because of ignorance, which they then repent immediately, then they received God's taubatnya; and Allah is Knower, Wise" (Surat an-Nisa ': 17).
- What is meant by "asking pardon of God" in this hadeeth is repent sincerely regret the attitude that accompanied these actions, distanced himself from these sins by abandoning its causes, and determined to not to repeat forever, and if sin relates to the rights of others then he immediately solve [4].
- Imam Ibn Hajar said, "Ask forgiveness of Allah (only) with oral, but it's still working on sin (with members of the body) is like to play (in repent) [5].
- Friends of the noble Abdullah bin Mas'ud quoted 'anhu said, "Those who believe in looking at sins as he was in the bottom of a mountain (large) that he was afraid the mountain is going to happen (and destroy) it, while people who fajir ( broken faith) considers his sins like a fly that passes in (front) and then drive them out of his nose with his hand (dinggapnya trivial and small) "[6].
